Alexander Reinhardt is the new President of St.Charlie

The President-elect: “Promote the bacon-and-eggs policy”

presidentsFebruary 17, the clock at the General Assembly is about to strike 9.30 PM when President of the General Assembly Lorenzo Zoni closes the session. Eight votes in favor, no abstention, no opposition: Alexander Reinhardt has been unanimously elected as the fourth President of the Federal Republic of St.Charlie.

The outgoing President, James Lunam, is the first to congratulate Reinhardt through a phone call. He is then followed by Prime Minister Eastwood. The New Socialist Party’s Central Committee decided to support Reinhardt’s election after Vice-Secretary and Deputy PM, Nicolò Alvisi, refused to run. The Party then proceeded to endorse Marka Mejakhansk‘s proposal.

After an exhaustive search, Reinhardt was elected during a joint meeting of the General Assembly and the members of the St.Charlian Commonwealth on the unanimous recommendation of both parties.

Reinhardt, turning 21 in a couple of days, served as Prime Minister of St.Charlie from 2009 to 2011, and again in 2012, and was the founder and longest-serving Secretary of the National Party. Serving in the General Assembly for 4 consecutive years, Reinhardt is also regarded as one of the pioneers of the MicroWiki Community, and was one of the organizers of the PoliNation 2012 Conference in London, together with Emperor George II of Atlantium and Dr. Judy Lattas of Macquarie University.

Before being elected President, Reinhardt held a number of positions within the socialist Administration, including Secretary of the Treasury and First Ambassador.

“I received the news with great pride and happiness. A couple of months ago I would have never expected to become President, as my plans were totally different. I was expecting someone else, but then I understood how my presence would have been another great step for our Federal Republic“, Reinhardt said to the Observer. “It was only after the general elections and the new Parliament that I came to understand the power of this micronation, we are unbeatable when we are working together for a common purpose, and both the Nationals and the NSP voting for me shows it clearly. It will be an honor to lead this great nation as its fourth Head of State.”

When asked about his future plans, Reinhardt announced his will to promote his “bacon-and-eggs policy” with other heads of state: “As President I will make sure that an informal, yet professional relationship is kept with other nations who share our values and enjoy micronationalism as much as we do, together with the help of all the Federations that I intend to protect just like my predecessor“, he then added.

Reinhardt will officially succeed James Lunam at an official ceremony that will take place in March.
