Marchesi to run for President of the General Assembly
Valentina Marchesi, National Party, who has recently lost her bid for President of Tor Pendente against Socialist candidate Elizabeth Evans, has decided she will candidate herself for the Presidium of the St.Charlian Parliament. In a note released this Friday, the former leader of Tor Pendente has declared she would like stand for election.
Marchesi, a Junior Member of Parliament since 2011, was confirmed as member of the General Assembly by Prime Minister-elect Alexander Reinhardt and has not yet found any opposition. Reinhardt, who is currently acting as President of the Parliament because of its past mandate, has declared that if any other candidates will be proposed by this afternoon, the election for President is likely to become a “confidence motion” to Ms. Marchesi.
The General Assembly is likely to vote for the new President this week.
